Genee Woodson
She has maintained involvement in multiple capacities with the agency since 2012 proud to support their talented efforts of turning visions into community action for Lake County. Previously, she served LFRC as Chair of the Parent Policy Council, an advisory committee within Early Head Start, a LFRC program 2 of her own children have greatly benefited from enrollment in. A long time resident of the community, she has called Lake County home since the mid 1980s when she moved here from southern California as a teen, quickly becoming a staple in the community for her passion for children, eventually becoming a licensed child care provider and volunteer involved in local youth clubs. Now a parent and a grandparent to children with special needs, she is even more driven to preserving a culture of community. She serves on two Boards of Directors committed to contributing to programs that keep local neighbors empowered, healthy, and
thriving. Occasionally, free time presents itself. During these golden moments, Geneé enjoys writing freelance for publications, serving as a women’s ministry counselor, exploring coastal waters, singing, music, and travelling the U.S.

Lake County is my home and where I have spent over 45 years serving many community needs. I believe Lake County has some of the best non-profits available to meet a variety of needs throughout the County. I recently retired from a 45-year career developing and directing People Services, Inc. into a multi-service Agency serving those with developmental/intellectual disabilities. At the same time, I was involved in many other non-profits, including Lake Family Resource Center since 2004. LFRC is a multi-service Agency meeting the needs of a wide spectrum of needs throughout the County. Its Leadership Team is amazing and dedicated and committed to excellence in service. I would encourage all to keep LFRC on their radar for volunteering and gifting. They are a valuable resource in our communities and they need our support.
