Early Start

What is Early Start?

Early Start is California’s Early Intervention Program, in response to federal legislation, specifically for infants, toddlers and their families. The program works to ensure that coordinated efforts are family centered, which fits in with Lake Family Resource Center’s (Lake FRC) person centered, trauma informed values.

Babies develop at their own pace, however if you (or your doctor) are concerned about the development of your child, we are here to help! If a parent, family member, caregiver or professional has any concern about a child’s development, it is best to identify the concern as soon as possible as the first three years are very important in a child’s life. The sooner a concern is identified, the sooner the child and family can receive specialized services to support growth and development.

All infants and toddlers are potentially eligible for early intervention services and Lake FRC can help evaluate and determine eligibility. Our services are always confidential and offered at no cost.
